Flannel is a popular off-duty favorite which no doubt inspired the above statement but the time’s are changing. I have always liked flannel , I  like a man in a great flannel shirt…so nice to cozy up to, or slipping underneath some fabulous winter flannel sheets but that would pretty much sum up the “flannel” in my life until I found this oversized flannel top-tunic-dress!  I must say it was another fabulous fashionable frugal find (check out this blog for another recent frugal find here) I am loving everything about this oversized top, it is the perfect garment to wear especially during these cold winter months.plaid10

Flannel appeals to a wide demographic, the flannel fabric is commonly produced in a plaid pattern and now considered a classic. It is mostly found and incorporated into flannel shirts, tartan clothing, bed sheets, blankets & pajamas. Flannel garments offer warmth and a coziness to the wearer. I am loving the colour combination, duo plaid pattern and this style line.This oversized flannel top is from a line called “the shelter project”* and I picked it up at Marshall’s where it had just been reduced to $30.00.plaid8

 

 

This oversized top is very versatile, it can be worn as styled in my pictures or wear it as a dress by teaming it with a pair of leggings and ankle boots or layered over a tank with jeans and or shorts. * Final note I was unable to find much information on this label “the shelter project” , the attached label says that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Win which is the largest provider of shelter for homeless families in NYC. ( winnyc.org ) As I mentioned, this flannel top is from Marshall’s. Marshall’s is an off-price retailer, the inventory changes weekly. They do not hold stock therefore as they say “If you love it, grab it!” and by all means sign up for their loyalty card just in case, it extends the refund period to 30 days which is perfect if……
